The Claims Coordinator is responsible for input of all claims into the claims system via telephone, fax, e-mail and mail. Claims are researched through various programs in order to obtain necessary data for effective handling.


  • Enter new losses into Claim System.

  • Research and assign new losses.

  • Maintain property damage cases and files.

  • Work with customers who provide files to include sending notification of the customer carrier to the claimant, adverse carrier and insurance agent.

  • Assign claim files upon direction of the Claims Manager.

  • Effectively support claim adjusters to expedite the handling of a claim.

  • Assist with other administrative duties (e.g., covering the phones).


  • H.S. diploma/GED.

  • At least one (1) year of experience in administrative tasks.

  • Ability to type 40-45 words per minute (wpm).

  • Experience with computer and data entry.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of insurance markets preferred.

  • Basic insurance claims knowledge preferred.
